Egypt's Morsi Entered Into Space Contest By Protest Group

You could be one of 22 lucky people to travel into space by entering Axe Company's Apollo Space Academy contest. Axe, which makes men's personal care products, along with U.S. astronaut Buzz Aldrin- of moon-walking fame- are sponsoring the trip. But you'll have to compete with Egypt's president Mohammed Morsi for one of those spots. That's because the April 6 Youth Movement, the fools who were instrumental in getting Morsi elected, have had a change of heart, so they entered him into the competition. They're hoping he wins and never comes back.

On the April 6 Youth Movement Facebook page, they claim they signed him up and that he's in the lead. However, I clicked on the link to the Axe profile page for Morsi, and it's not there. I can only assume Axe removed it.

On the Arabic version of their Facebook page they wrote:

“For sure, no one in the universe can put up with blatant lies, reneging on promises except for the brotherly people of the moon.

“It is for this reason that the president needs your votes. President Morsi, we wish you safe travels.”

A little background on the April 6 group who were the backbone of the 2011 Arab Spring in Egypt:

Many of its supporters backed Dr Mursi in the June 2012 election he narrowly won to become Egypt’s first freely elected president.

But later, the group became among the fiercest critics of the president and his Muslim Brotherhood, the fundamentalist group from which he hails. The opposition accuses Dr. Mursi of monopolising power and going back on campaign promises to have an inclusive government and introduce far reaching reforms.

Contestants are supposed to mention why they want to travel into space, under Morsi's profile they wrote:

“I want to go to space because I completed my mission.” 

They wish.

I hope the Arab world has learned its lesson about voting in Islamists, though I doubt it.
